Course Description:

Oral systemic health and practice profitability are two important aspects of the dental industry that are interconnected. Oral systemic health refers to the connection between oral health and overall systemic health, meaning the entire body's health. It recognizes that conditions in the mouth, such as gum disease and infections, can impact and contribute to systemic health issues like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and more. Maintaining good oral health is vital for reducing the risk of these systemic health problems. Practice profitability in the context of a dental office refers to the financial success and sustainability of the practice. Profitability is influenced by factors such as patient volume, treatment fees, operational costs, and efficiency in delivering dental care.

Learning Objectives:

- Understand the significance of balancing delivering patient-centered, high-quality care and addressing the financial aspects of a dental practice.
- Understand the ethical and patient-centered approach to maintaining a focus on oral-systemic health as a means to improve profitability potentially.
