Course Description:
It is a concept and approach in dentistry that focuses on assessing an individual's risk for dental caries (tooth decay) and then tailoring preventive and management strategies based on that assessment. CAMBRA aims to change the patient's oral and systemic (whole-body) condition, ultimately improving their quality of life by preventing and managing dental caries effectively.
CAMBRA involves a thorough evaluation of a patient's risk factors for caries, including factors such as diet, oral hygiene, certain bacteria in the mouth, fluoride exposure, and more. The dentist can develop a personalized treatment plan based on this assessment to address the patient's specific risk factors. This may involve dietary counseling, recommendations for fluoride treatments, dental sealants, and other preventive measures.
