Course Description:
High-risk periodontal pathogens are causative of arterial disease development. The definition of periodontal disease must include high-risk oral pathogens to ensure the opportunity to mitigate the number one cause of death and disability – heart attacks and strokes.
Through the lens of oxidative stress and arterial disease development, we will discuss the atherogenic triad and the vital impact of dental hygienists and dentists as key members of the healthcare team.

Amy L. Doneen, DNP, co-founded the Bale/Doneen Method and the Heart Attack & Stroke Prevention Center. She is a principal instructor in the Bale/Doneen Method, training medical, dental, and healthcare providers across the country.
