The Keynotes:
Brian Nový, DDS
Dr. Nový teaches cariology at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, Virginia Commonwealth University, and the University of Pikeville. He served the American Dental Association Council of Scientific Affairs from 2010-2014, and in 2016 was appointed the consumer representative to the United States Food & Drug Administration Dental Products Panel. His papers are published in various journals including the Journal of the American Dental Association, the Journal of Dental Research, the Journal of Evidence-Based Dentistry, Dentistry Today, Inside Dentistry, Dental Economics, the National Academies of Medicine, the International Journal of Health Equity, and General Dentistry.
Paul Reynolds, PhD
Paul Reynolds earned a PhD in molecular and developmental biology. As a professor at Brigham Young University, he primarily studies the effects of inflammation and glycation. His research explores the pulmonary apparatus (exposure to particulates and how exposure influences systemic health) and inflammation caused by hyperglycemia and how ketogenic states mitigate inflammatory outcomes. His research program has received numerous grants from private institutes and the National Institutes of Health.

Suzanne Thai, DDS
Dr. Suzanne Thai, DDS, is a sleep dentist and founder of DFW Sleep Solutions and Swisher Dental in Dallas, specializing in comprehensive care for obstructive sleep apnea with a focus on airway health and interdisciplinary collaboration. A Diplomate, TEDx speaker, author, and national lecturer, she is dedicated to improving patient communication, raising awareness about sleep health, and helping patients achieve better overall wellness through quality sleep.
David Wong, DMD, DMSc
David T.W. Wong DMD, DMSc is Professor and Director of the Oral/Head and Neck Oncology Research Center at UCLA. He is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Sciences (AAAS), Fellow of AADR, past member of the ADA Council of Scientific Affairs, and the past president of American Association of Dental Research (AADR). He is the current chair of the NCI Liquid Biopsy Consortium and past chartered member and chair of the NIH CSR Molecular Cancer Diagnostics and Classification (MCDC) study section.
Mark Cannon, DDS, MS
Dr. Mark L. Cannon is a Professor Emeritus and pediatric dentistry expert with over 45 years of experience, holding academic and clinical roles at leading institutions, including Northwestern University and Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital, and has lectured extensively worldwide on oral-systemic health and microbiome research. A former President of the American Academy for Oral & Systemic Health, he is also an active researcher, patent holder, and dedicated family man who takes pride in his accomplished children and grandchildren.
Machell Hudson-Hoover, RDH, CHC
Machell Hudson-Hoover, RDH, CHC, is the Founder and CEO of Integrative Dental Coaching and an internationally recognized speaker and consultant in oral-systemic health and whole-body wellness. With more than 20 years in dentistry and as a Subject Matter Expert for Spear Education, she brings both credibility and conviction to her work, believing that elevating patient care is possible, that what dental professionals do matters, and that the people who make up dentistry have the power to change lives. She is also co-creator of the Hygiene Mastery Series and co-author of A Patient’s Guide to Oral Systemic Connections.

This annual competition is designed to advance interdisciplinary thinking, ignite scientific curiosity, and inspire next-generation leaders in oral and systemic health. Participants will explore one of two transformative themes: The Oral/Systemic Revolution or The Oral/Systemic Movement into the Future with AI. Students may submit research, case studies, public health concepts, or technology-driven innovations that advance understanding of the oral & systemic connection. Selected posters will be showcased at the AAOSH Annual Session 2026 in New Orleans, with top projects recognized before leaders in medicine, dentistry, and healthcare innovation.

VIRTUAL EVENT TICKET PURCHASES: If you find that you are unable to attend an event, you may sell your ticket to a friend or colleague (this is a freely transferrable ticket).
You may request a refund of your ticket prior to 90 days before the start of the event, minus a $15 processing fee. Due to financial obligations incurred by AAOSH, we can offer a 50%, minus a $15 processing fee, refund 31-90 days before the start of the event. We cannot offer refund requests made 0-30 days before the start of the event.
If you wish to transfer your ticket, the initial registrant is responsible for finding and soliciting the ticket transferee and communicating the new attendee's contact information to AAOSH via email at support@aaosh.org.
Due to financial obligations incurred by AAOSH, no refunds or credits will be issued on cancellation requests less than 30 days before the start of the event.

All membership sales are final and not subject to refunds. All memberships renew on an annual basis. In order to cancel your membership, you must notify AAOSH 30 days in advance of your renewal date by contacting support@aaosh.org. If your membership tier changes (i.e. professional to retired), you must notify AAOSH 60 days prior to your renewal date so that we can change your status to the appropriate billing code.
