Election of New AAOSH Officers & Board Member

The AAOSH Board of Directors takes great pleasure to announce the election of the new 2014-2015 President and Vice-President. Stephanie Lodding, RDH is the new President, and Dr. Mike Milligan, DMD is Vice-President.

Also, following the successful passage of amended Articles of Incorporation at our annual meeting, the Board has adopted new bylaws which paves the way for a more robust and successful Academy on all fronts.

Stephanie Lodding, RDHStephanie has served on the AAOSH Board with distinction, passion and great energy since its inception. A sought after speaker and leader in her own right, Stephanie understands the integral role that dental hygienists play in delivering oral-systemic healthcare, and in working with dentists and physicians to co-manage optimal patient care. Bringing her enthusiasm, energy and leadership skills to the leadership front is well timed with an organization that is ready for growth and maximum impact within the healthcare industry.

“I am honored to have been elected as the first hygienist as incoming President for AAOSH 2014-2015. My commitment to AAOSH started from the original meeting becoming a founding member and board member in Madison, WI in 2010.  I have served with excitement and passion as we have worked to bring Oral Systemics to the main stream of dental practices across this country and around the world.  I have served as meeting chairperson, committee head, and now as president to this amazing organization that continues to grow and become stronger every year.

Hygienists have always been the prevention specialists of our profession and should be recognized as an integral part of oral-systemic implementation into dentistry and a conduit to bring dentistry and medicine together.  We as hygienists spend more time with our patients and have the opportunity to make significant oral connections which could be potentially life saving.  As the first hygienist to be elected president of AAOSH and the first hygienist to have served on the board, I am humbled by the board’s choice and applaud the board’s recognition of hygienists and their role in the future of oral-systemic and this great movement in dentistry.

I will be committed to serving AAOSH and the members of the organization to the best of my abilities. I take my role in the advancement and progress of AAOSH very seriously and will keep the needs and desires of the members foremost in my mind. I would like to open the door to comments, suggestions, and also ask that of those that would like to serve within the AAOSH committees please share your desires to serve.  We together will grow this amazing organization and work to accomplish the mission of AAOSH and bring it successfully into the future.  Blessings to all.”

Mike Milligan, DMDDr. Mike Milligan has distinguished himself within the profession in his pursuit of continuing education on all fronts and in building and maintaining relationships with health professionals, continuing education experts, and industry representatives. In addition to his love for his golf game, he is perhaps best known for his passion for oral-systemic healthcare. Many are familiar with his efforts to interview, showcase and bring to the health professions, hundreds of health experts and speakers, industry and technology experts, who all help us learn and deliver great health care. Mike is and has been a leading voice on the Board and within AAOSH for clinical excellence, in bringing medical and dental together, and for having a fundamentally sound academy.

In addition, Jacque Russo, RN, DDS has been chosen as the newest Board member. She will take the place of Dan Sindelar, DMD, who is stepping down from the Board:

"I am devoting more of my time to spreading the word with oshnewsnetwork.com and my participation in AdVax, developing management systems, paradigm shifting diagnostics and therapeutics, and a vaccine for CVD and Alzheimer's disease."

While we will miss Dan tremendously, we look forward to Jacque assuming her position and providing much insight, expertise and energy.

As a board, we invite and encourage all members to join with us in welcoming our new officers and to offer their support by becoming personally involved and to be an active participant in the growth and impact of our Academy.
