Continuing Education Course: Vascular Inflammation - The Oral/Systemic Connection

AAOSH is pleased to announce the upcoming seminar put on by AAOSH members Amy Doneen and Brad Bale and Tom Nabors, entitled "Vascular Inflammation: The Oral/Systemic Connection". It will be held in Las Vegas, November 2, 2012. We encourage all AAOSH members to register and attend this seminar and learn about vascular inflammation and its connection with oral disease.

A continuing objective of AAOSH is that its members fully understand the medical connections that exist between the mouth and the body. For dentists and physicians to correctly identify related dental and medical problems , as well as to effectively work together and co-manage patient care, it is necessary to better understand the scientify basis underlying the oral-systemic connection.

Periodontal disease (PD) is independently associated with Cardiovascular disease (CVD). It is imperative that efforts to enhance cardiovascular wellness incorporate periodontal evaluations and therapies. This course will recognize the need for the medical community to value the dental role in managing the modifiable disease state of PD as it relates to systemic vascular disease. There is urgency for medicine and dentistry to join together to improve the lives of patients by reducing the morbidity and mortality associated with vascular disease.

This unique course will elucidate the science that binds the oral/systemic connection. As a participant, you will receive necessary tools to build bridges in your communities that bind medicine and dentistry together and bring CVD prevention to the dental chair.
Brad Bale, MD and Amy Doneen, MSN, ARNP are cofounders of the Bale/Doneen Method for the prevention of heart attack, stroke and diabetes. Thomas Nabors, D.D.S. is an authority in molecular analysis and genetic risk assessment for periodontal diseases.
Nabors, Bale and Doneen created this course to deliver the most current science and provide the clinical backdrop necessary to provide optimal CV wellness by building bridges between medicine and dentistry.
