Speaker Bio:

Elizabeth (Betsy) Board, MD, founded Atlanta Functional Medicine in Alpharetta, Georgia. Initially trained and certified in Anesthesiology, she pursued fellowships in Obstetric Anesthesia at Emory and Pain Medicine at Stanford University. After leaving her faculty position at Stanford, she returned to Atlanta as a Board Certified Pain Management Physician. Dr. Board's interest in alternative pain relief methods without heavy drug reliance led her to explore acupuncture and Functional Medicine. She is among Georgia's few certified Functional Medicine physicians and holds the American Board of Holistic and Integrative Medicine certification. Currently, she mentors at The Institute for Functional Medicine and facilitates physician training. Notably, she was selected to educate Armed Forces physicians in functional medicine approaches for Chronic Pain and PTSD. Dr. Board has contributed as an editor to two books: The Alternative Sourcebook: Kids and "The Alternative Sourcebook: Pain Relief.
