Course Description:
We will be interviewing successful AAOSH dentists about how they have incorporated an oral-systemic philosophy, with the goal of optimal patient outcomes but with the added side effect of increased profitability as well. Join us for this motivational interview and conversation!
Learning Objectives:
- Identify and explain an expanded understanding of oral-systemic practices that experienced dentists have successfully integrated.
- Identify and explain how these practitioners have seen more optimal outcomes for their patients as a result of these models and increased profitability.
Speaker Bio:
Dr. Shanley Lestini, raised in Raleigh, NC, Dr. Shanley Lestini earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the UNC School of Dentistry in 2013 after receiving her B.A. from Duke University in 2009. An alumna of the Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education and the Dawson Academy, Dr. Lestini also has completed several courses covering a range of topics beneficial to patient health, including sleep apnea and orthodontics, and she serves on the board of the American Academy for Oral-Systemic Health (AAOSH). She and Dr. DeWitt Wilkerson also recently co-authored their first book, The Shift: The Dramatic Movement Toward Health-Centered Dentistry, which focuses on the intersection between dentistry and overall health.
