Course Description:

This course introduces the learner to the intricate workings of the Endocannabinoid System (ECS) and its pivotal role in maintaining homeostasis within the nervous and immune systems, particularly in modulating inflammation. This session highlights the components and functions of the ECS, explores factors impacting its position, and examines lifestyle, dietary, and phytocannabinoid interventions to optimize ECS health for managing sustained pain.

Learning Objectives:

  • Acquire a comprehensive understanding of the basic elements comprising the Endocannabinoid System (ECS), comprehending the interactions among transmitters, receptors, and enzymes shaping ECS functionality.
  • Explore the ECS's regulatory role in immune functions within the Central Nervous System and the broader body, emphasizing its impact on the modulation of immune response.
  • Learn targeted strategies focused on dietary modifications and lifestyle adjustments aimed at improving ECS health and functionality to mitigate sustained pain and optimize.
  • Evaluate the potential benefits and drawbacks of supplementing endocannabinoids with phytocannabinoids, examining the medicinal impacts of both marijuana/THC and CBD on ECS restoration, emphasizing their medical implications for managing inflammation and pain regulation.
