Course Description:

This course navigates the transition from the outdated Somatic Mutation Theory (SMT) to the cutting-edge Metabolic Theory of Cancer, elucidating its clinical implications and practical applications. Delving into this paradigm shift, participants will grasp the distinctions between Somatic Mutation Theory and Metabolic Theory and their respective impacts on patient outcomes. Understanding the alarming rise in cancer rates, attendees will explore the underpinnings of this surge and delve into strategies to evaluate and cultivate metabolic flexibility in patients. The course aims to equip healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills to fortify patients through metabolic approaches for both cancer prevention and supportive treatment.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discriminate the fundamental differences of the Somatic Mutation Theory and the Metabolic Theory of Cancer, enabling healthcare professionals to comprehend the underlying principles shaping these contrasting theories in cancer biology.
  • Analyze and articulate the factors contributing to the escalating cancer rates, fostering a comprehensive understanding of the contemporary landscape of cancer prevalence and its potential driving forces.
  • Evaluate and implement strategies to foster metabolic flexibility in patient populations, empowering healthcare professionals to fortify individuals in cancer prevention and provide enhanced support during cancer treatment through metabolic approaches, ultimately aiming to improve patient outcomes.
