This webinar will help you re-design a powerful health history and thereby change the patients’ experience of your practice

Learning Objectives

  1. See how to build a concise and powerful health history to support the clinicians suspicions and the patients self -discovery.
  2. Discover the elements that differ significantly in an adult versus  pediatric health history
  3.  learn when to use important accessory screening tools that correspond to the answers on your health history.
  4. Recall the importance of a facilitated dialogue in helping patients move forward with health change behavior and case acceptance. And why it should never be replaced by a health history.

Course Description

Every recent dental graduate knows how to perform an examination that leads to a diagnose and treatment plan for the new patient. But that doesn't get your best dentistry off the shelf! The science of psychology allows you to penetrate the exterior façade of the new patient and enter into their deeper wants, needs, and desires. This knowledge allows you to engage and include the new patient in the development of their car, resulting in a treatment plan that they like, trust, and approve... because they helped create it.

This gives you a track to run on so you can gather the information/intelligence to influence your new patient in a positive way and in an ethical manner, to help them perceive the need for your care, accept what you are saying and move forward with your best option care. This improves the health of the new patient and amplifies the growth and performance of the practice.

Learning Objectives

  • Learn why the dental school type of new patient examination and the curriculum never included "Lifetime Relationship Building 101"
  • Create a new patient experience that has the new patient saying... "I appreciate the fact that you are looking at my health... not just my teeth"
  • Discover a strategy that gathers all of the pertinent clinical information and that is also designed to build a long-term relationship with your new patient
  • Learn how to create the top two emotions of 'need' and 'urgency' in the new patient's mind
  • Boost your average new patient value by developing treatment plans that cover the 7 diagnostic disciplines
  • A trusting relationship takes time to build -- Learn the verbal skills to reduce the time to accomplish this in the new patient exam appointment
  • Learn how to replace the old 'case presentation' with the 'proposal' of a solution to what the new patient wants

Description

Dental practice owners are under greater financial pressure than ever before. Lower reimbursements, fewer new patients and few patients covered by insurance, as well as the current economic climate, all make for challenging times. The number one concern for dentists today is not enough new patients. With 80 plus percent of all dental plans sold today being PPOs, the temptation to participate in multiple plans is tremendous. We typically see an average of 20–30% discount from a doctor’s full fee schedule after participating in these plans. These reduced fees are directly correlated to the next concerns for dentists—increasing overhead and decreasing profitabiity!

In this webinar, you will learn:

• Strategies for practice growth and tips to effectively market your oral-systemic practice
• How to increase production and profitability
• Techniques to improve patient referrals

Description

For decades health care leaders have been working to connect the dots between oral health and cardiovascular/total body health, in a manner that can be easily communicated to patients while having a lasting impact on their oral health decisions.

It's no secret that an estimated 85% of all patients experiencing a cardiac related event have zero symptoms prior to the event itself.

In 2013 the Dental Cardio Group sheds new light on this pressing subject. A new device provides a 3 minute non-invasive, in-office screening examining the overall cardiovascular and nervous system health if each patient. This will allows practices to further assist the long term health and well being of their patients. Additionally allowing deliverable treatment plans documenting significant improvements over initial screening indicators.

Objectives:

  • How to more effectively and quickly educate their patients on the oral-systemic link
  • How to increase patient referrals and compliance
  • How to foster better relationships with physicians in their community
  • How to increase practice revenue through diagnostic testing

Speaker Bio:

Rose Nierman, RDH, has been at the forefront of educating dental practices on cross-coding and service expansion for over 25 years. In addition to hosting and speaking at over 25 educational seminars across the country each year, she has developed Dental Writer™ and CrossCode™ Software to assist dentists with documentation and billing medical insurance and has authored 5 dental practice management manuals and over 100 articles.

Course Description
Let’s be real. Much of the dental care that people receive is actually medical care! Right? If you believe in oral systemics, then you need to get your mind focused on billing medical insurance first…..always! Dental care for the medical health of the body is medical care that absolutely and always must be billed first to the patient’s medical insurance. Stop wasting your time and your patients’ limited dental benefits trying to get payments from their dental insurance with their $1000 annual limits and their corrected /adjusted fees. Bill medical insurance first, where there are often no limits and fewer adjustments. This is the only way to practice!

Do you think it’s impossible to get benefits for a saliva pathogen test? Well guess again!!!

Learning Objectives
Comparison of dental insurance v’s medical insurance. Dental Insurance should be considered as supplemental policy.
Patient assessment and screening process. How this translates to medical billing.
Conditions medical insurance companies will consider. It is not all about drill and fill!

Course Description

Many aspiring Total Health Dental Practices are frustrated by their inability to bridge the medicine-dentistry gap in their own communities, let alone gain practice building patient referrals from their local medical teams. Our challenge is two-fold: (1) To elevate the medical team’s understanding of oral disease and its ramifications on systemic disease. (2) To improve our ability to speak the medical team’s language, and to gain recurring co-referral relationships.

Take it from someone who, along with her team, has worked toward this goal for a decade and finally feels successful. Susan will short cut you to the must-dos, the obvious mistakes, the pros and cons of several different ideas, and her team’s proven strategies for success.
